With surviving Small Faces member Kenney Jones’ full involvement, Swinging London’s much-loved mod quartet have their classic Immediate Records albums repackaged as deluxe digi-sleeve CDs & newly mastered to vinyl LPs by long-term Small Faces remastering engineer Nick Robbins with lacquers cut by Barry Grint, senior mastering engineer at Air Studios.

Immediate Records label manager & Small Faces reissue producer Rob Caiger has continued his 20-year quest with Kenney to recover missing tapes to ensure the best possible sources are used for the new editions.

‘Small Faces’ (1967); ‘There Are But Four Small Faces’ (1968); ‘Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake’ (1968) & ‘Greatest Hits’ will be relaunched with Immediate Records catalogue numbers. ‘The Autumn Stone’ will appear later in 2023 on multiple formats, including a deluxe boxset. Original LP artwork has been faithfully reconfigured for CD & comes with fully illustrated 16-page booklets featuring definitive sleeve notes with archive & current interviews, all housed in a protective PVC wallet. LPs will be pressed on 180-gram black vinyl + limited edition colour vinyl while every LP & CD will come with a Small Faces/Immediate Records collectors obi-strip customised for each CD & LP edition.

‘There Are But Four Small Faces’ was the Small Faces debut on Immediate Records in America in 1968. Compiled from stereo versions and different takes of songs from the UK mono ‘Small Faces’ LP plus stereo mixes of US hits ‘Itchycoo Park’ and ‘Tin Soldier’ plus ‘Green Circles’ and ‘Here Come The Nice’.

Remastered in 2014 from the original master tapes, the CD features 19 bonus tracks, including a promotional DJ version produced for US AM radio stations plus early mixes and alternate takes. Fully-illustrated in-depth sleeve notes by American music journalist and author Ken Sharp has exclusive interviews with Olympic Studios engineer George Chkiantz, fellow Immediate Records artist PP Arnold, renowned photographer Gered Mankowitz and commentary by Eric Carmen (‘All By Myself’, The Raspberries) and Californian journalist Harvey Kubernik.
