On the thirtieth anniversary of debut album Rave On Andy White, Studio Albums 1986-2016 collects together all twelve of the Irish songwriter's studio albums - including the new and previously-unreleased Imaginary Lovers - along with an 80-page book, in a deluxe box set. Love, loss, politics, growing up in Belfast, living in London and Europe, moving to Australia, divorce and renewal. Each album is a chapter in Andy's life story and has its own musical style, tied together by his poetry and trademark lyrical wit. Discovered by The Whistle Test and BBC Radio One's Janice Long, Andy's first single Religious Persuasion was released in 1985 on Stiff Records. The Melody Maker review of his debut album the following year proclaimed "Yer Man's Brilliant!" Andy opened for Van Morrison on tour, and then Billy Bragg, with whom he shared legendary UK manager Peter Jenner. He's written with the likes of Peter Gabriel and Tim Finn, been produced by Kim Fowley and his recording mentor, John Leckie, and won Ireland's top songwriting award. Each album's audio has been remastered for this collection, and the covers redesigned as miniature record sleeves. Andy has sorted through cardboard boxes, lyrics, diaries and photo sessions to put together the hard-cover book, writing notes on the songs and the story of how the albums were recorded.
