Haust, originating in Notodden in 2001, reshaped the boundaries between punk and black metal with their 2008 debut album, "Ride The Relapse." This groundbreaking release, the first on the Fysisk Format label, became a source of inspiration for a new generation of bands. Noteworthy members of Haust have also left their mark in bands such as Okkultokrati and Outer Limit Lotus. Ruben Willem, the guitarist, has made significant contributions to the production of bands like Kvelertak, Bokassa, Djevel, Ondt Blod, NAG, and Sibiir.

Haust's debut album exemplified how negative forces could materialize into a musical expression. Drawing inspiration from Notodden's destructive car culture, intense local mentality, and anti-sophistication, as well as old horror and trash films by John Waters, the band presented a unique perspective. While three more albums followed, featuring various members, the band entered a hiatus in 2015.

Now, the band has made a comeback in their original lineup, revisiting the dark, horror-inspired landscape from their early days, delivering dirty punk rock with a potent negative energy. The latest album serves as a summary of everything Haust has represented over the past 23 years: recurring themes of negativity, death, and corruption. The music is more aggressive, noisy, and catchy than ever before, solidifying Haust's position in the realm of alternative and boundary-pushing music.
